What is Teamshares?
Teamshares is one of America’s largest buyers of small businesses from retiring owners and is on a mission to make employee ownership the future of small business. We buy promising companies from retiring owners, gifting employees an immediate 10% ownership stake in the business, and supporting their ongoing growth through proprietary software, education, financial products and best-in-class leadership support.
We're building a network of 10,000 employee-owned small businesses, creating $10 billion of stock wealth for wage workers and supporting generations of business owners into confident retirement. Together, we will reduce global wealth inequality while ensuring vital small businesses—and the communities they serve—continue to flourish.
A Teamshares network company in the construction industry is seeking a hands-on and operationally driven General Manager to lead day-to-day business activities, coordinate field operations, and drive team performance. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role at a well-established company going through an exciting transition to employee ownership.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee and coordinate all field and office operations, ensuring crews, subcontractors, and materials are aligned for successful job execution.
  • Manage and support construction crews, site supervisors, and admin staff—motivating through clear expectations, accountability, and a strong presence in the field.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to quality standards, handling scheduling, logistics, and safety.
  • Work closely with company leadership and ownership on financial tracking, job costing, resource allocation, and long-term planning.
  • Tackle challenges as they arise on job sites—from supply issues to team conflicts—with a calm and decisive approach.
  • Maintain strong ties with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, representing the company with professionalism and reliability.

What We're Looking For:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in construction operations, site supervision, or project management, ideally in residential or light commercial construction
  • Proven ability to manage crews, coordinate subcontractors, and deliver high-quality work on a tight timeline
  • Strong communication skills and a leadership style rooted in trust, accountability, and getting your hands dirty when needed
  • Experience with construction job costing, scheduling, and managing multiple job sites at once
  • Comfortable using basic project management or estimating tools
  • A mindset focused on results, efficiency, and doing the right thing—especially when no one’s looking
